This week students learned and practiced recognizing bullying, using refusal words in a strong assertive voice and practiced who to report to. The message to students is they have power to recognize and prevent bullying.
In 4th & 5th grade we discussed ways students can keep themselves safe. Students practiced using the 3 R's: Recognize, Refuse and Report to keep things safe. Then we practiced using phrases to refuse if something is unsafe. Last we discussed what adults they could report to help keep it safe. We also talked about the Always Ask First Rule. This week in counseling your child named safe adults at home and school. They then learned or reviewed the 3 R's. Recognize, Refuse, Report. These are 3 ways to always keep it safe. Last students learned the 8 Never Nevers to also keep themselves safe!! Scroll below to listen to the songs with your kids and talk about ways they can keep it safe at home and school:) Students also learned about the Always Ask 1st Rule and practiced when they would use it and who they would ask.
